About The Position

The Electrical Hardware Design Engineering Intern position at Leidos offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the defense and aerospace sectors. Interns will engage in various design engineering activities, including the development and testing of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) and will work closely with mentors to enhance their skills in a supportive learning environment.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Willingness to relocate to the San Diego, California area.
  • Must be a US Citizen and eligible to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in design engineering activities including concept development and implementation of PCBAs.
  • Test printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) including power supply, mixed-signal, FPGA, and microcontroller designs.
  • Engage in printed circuit board layout, signal integrity analysis, and power distribution network design.
  • Conduct technical trade studies and evaluate technology improvements.
