Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Revise new approaches to problems and prepare or modify drawings, specifications, and calculations.
  • Monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and Fosber standards.
  • Research and implement product improvements and design in accordance with required standards.
  • Manage component lifecycles and implement cost-reduction strategies.
  • Assist with new machinery installations and troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in electrical-related field.
  • 2+ years' experience with Industrial Machinery.
  • Experience in a CAD related field is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of the hardware-related aspects of PLCs, AC and DC drives, servo environments, and HMI/touchscreens.
  • Knowledge of common industrial fieldbuses.
  • Knowledge of UL508a and ability to incorporate into design of industrial control panels.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70, NFPA 70e, and NFPA 79.
  • Willingness to travel when required, including international.
  • Organization, communication, and accuracy.
  • Mechanical aptitude.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in EPlan is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to design in accordance with required SIL/PL levels per ISO 13849-1:2006.
