About the position

The Electrical Hardware Engineering Manager will lead the Electrical Hardware Engineering group and the Regulatory Compliance team at ETS, Inc. This full-time position involves managing a team of electrical engineers, compliance engineers, technicians, and CAD personnel to design, develop, and deliver high-quality automation solutions. The role emphasizes a team-oriented environment that fosters innovation and challenges employees to expand their technical expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, develop, mentor, and manage staff; set department and individual goals; manage staff career development and training; conduct performance evaluations.
  • Take ultimate responsibility for all aspects of department's project deliverables, including design, development, compliance, and documentation deliverables.
  • Provide electrical engineering, design compliance and project management expertise to support project engineering teams, ensuring safety, quality, reliability, schedule, and budget objectives are met.
  • Fully understand the scope of new projects, recognize how that scope is generated and impacted by other disciplines, and identify scope changes.
  • Provide consulting and troubleshooting expertise to solve complex technical electrical engineering problems in support of the team.
  • Oversee all design compliance activities, providing technical expertise and direction on complex compliance issues.
  • Manage staffing and performance of the department to ensure delivery of components, functional elements, and/or products meet specifications and market demands accurately and on time.
  • Plan and establish engineering schedules and follow up on performance against estimates.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and objectives regarding processes, initiatives, and projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • An Engineering Management degree is a plus.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proven track record of managing and coordinating activities of electrical engineers involved in research, development, design, testing, and evaluation of electrical components, equipment, and systems.
  • Proven track record of successfully defining and executing engineering compliance programs within a product development organization.
  • Familiarity with a range of domestic and non-domestic compliance engineering requirements as well as environmental, health, and safety standards.
  • Experience in industrial machinery is preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage development efforts in a dynamic environment comprised of highly-skilled and motivated engineers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with compliance engineering in industrial machinery.
