About the position
The Electrical Hardware Packaging Engineer will be responsible for the design and coordination of electrical hardware packaging, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards and government project requirements. This role involves detailed design work, collaboration with various disciplines, and the creation of assembly and installation instructions for final products.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate space reservations and physical/electrical interfaces.
- Design metallic and other packaging and installation details.
- Collaborate with other design and analysis disciplines.
- Work with procurement and suppliers to ensure project requirements are met.
- Create assembly and installation instructions for final products.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
- At least 5 years of experience with CATIA V5, CATIA V6, or 3DX.
- Recent experience in packaging electronic hardware (PCBs, connectors, housings, etc.).
- Ability to perform static and structural analysis for electronics packaging.
- Ability to perform thermal analysis for electronics packaging.
- Familiarity with aerospace standards (MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461/464, DO-160).
- Ability to work on US government projects.
