About the position

The Electrical Hardware TPM (Technical Program Manager) at Rivian is responsible for the development and execution of vehicle control electronic control units (ECUs). This role requires a high level of initiative, independent judgment, and indirect leadership capabilities. The TPM will act as the liaison between the Electrical Hardware team and other cross-functional teams, ensuring that vehicle programs are delivered on time and meet quality standards. The position involves driving the design, development, release, and validation of various ECUs while maintaining awareness of program deliverables and reporting on status and risks.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Electrical Hardware Design team to create engineering and delivery schedules, tracking progress against vehicle deliverable schedules.
  • Drive custom module developments with in-house PCBA designs and mechanical assemblies.
  • Identify programmatic risks and work to mitigate them, raising issues and removing roadblocks to meet timelines.
  • Collaborate with vehicle line, software, electrical, and other teams to drive critical path and ensure synchronized deliveries.
  • Lead the development and integration of ECUs via design reviews, supporting pre-production builds for vehicle launches.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and supply chain for timely delivery of components and assemblies for prototype builds.
  • Ensure successful integration of electronic assemblies with Vehicle integration and Electrical Systems.
  • Support the release of all engineering documentation to support Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).
  • Assist in purchasing efforts to ensure timely deliveries and maintain project budgets and forecasts.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience on a program team or equivalent experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a similar technical field
  • Detailed knowledge of electronics design, development, validation, and integration processes
  • Prior relevant engineering experience in Mechanical Engineering (ME), Electrical Engineering (EE), or systems engineering
  • Experience working with Contract Manufacturers and vendors for PCBA, mechanical housings, and complex systems
  • Outstanding program management skills, including development of program plans and schedules
  • Proven experience in developing, launching, and sustaining complex products
  • Strong communication skills with Executive Staff
  • Experience in tracking and driving the progress of multiple projects
  • Strong team player and leader, known for building trust and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
