About the position

The Electrical Helpdesk Engineer plays a crucial role in providing technical support for customers and internal technicians, focusing on PLC, computer, and motor controls. This position involves troubleshooting, remote assistance, and on-site visits to ensure customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Supports customers/internal technicians on all PLC, Computer and electrical motor control issues via remote access.
  • Supports customers/internal technicians by manning helpdesk calls, 24/7 on a scheduled basis.
  • Provides technical support for other internal departments, including Projects, Parts, and R&D.
  • Travels to customer site (on short notice) to resolve issues.
  • Keeps accurate records of customer/internal technician trouble calls via database software.
  • Participates in locating, quoting, selling, and installing a wide variety of Engineering Services (ES1) meeting minimum revenue quota.
  • Writes procedures for customer troubleshooting issues.
  • Writes technical procedures for internal Technicians, Helpdesk, and customers.
  • Designs methods for continuous improvements to reduce customer downtime and ensure customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • 2-4 year technical degree preferred
  • 3 years electrical/technical position on poultry equipment and/or electrical motor controls
  • 5 years electrical motor controls experience
  • Mechanical and technical knowledge of company equipment preferred
  • Ability to read electrical schematics
  • Capability of PLC programming
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Current knowledge of electrical motor controls
  • Bilingual proficiency
  • Willingness to travel on short notice
