About the position

As an Electrical Instrumentation and Control (EI&C) Technician at Golden Valley Electric Association, you will be an integral part of our team, responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance of our coal-fired power plant's controls and instrumentation. Your expertise will be vital in maintaining the Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), as well as calibrating plant instrumentation and controllers. You will also assist with boiler and plant control loop tuning, showcasing your technical abilities and enhancing the performance of our facility. Golden Valley Electric Association is committed to providing a competitive hourly wage, ranging from $38.65 for Tech Entry level to $55.22 for Tech 3 level, as per the IBEW Collective Bargaining Agreement. Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on coal-fired power plant controls and instrumentation.
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain motors, UPS, and DC battery systems.
  • Calibrate plant instrumentation and controllers.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
  • Assist with boiler and plant control loop tuning.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Minimum of five years of industrial instrumentation/control experience.
  • Demonstrated equipment calibration experience.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and maintaining DCS and PLCs.
