About the position

The Electrical Instrumentation and Controls Engineer (EIC Engineer) at Clorox will serve as the subject matter expert for control systems, collaborating with maintenance and operations teams to resolve control system and process failures. This role involves managing capital projects, providing technical expertise, and improving equipment uptime to enhance plant reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute capital projects related to Electrical Instrumentation and Controls (EIC), including design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup.
  • Troubleshoot control system failures and provide solutions while educating peers and maintenance staff.
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and operations to implement changes for process improvements and system upgrades.
  • Enhance equipment uptime and contribute to plant reliability efforts.
  • Develop and implement standards to maintain controls architecture and integrity in collaboration with internal and external partners.
  • Provide engineering technical support to maintenance and plant operations for performance, safety, and quality improvements.
  • Lead and supervise engineering firms, construction contractors, and equipment vendors.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Engineering, Maintenance, Project Management, or Plant Operations.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology required.
  • Experience leading and participating in capital projects, with a strong track record of collaboration with EIC technicians.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with demonstrated experience in delivering process improvements.
  • Strong working knowledge of Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley suite or similar PLC and controls products.
  • Strong understanding of industrial controls networks, particularly Ethernet IP.
  • Ability to develop, read, and interpret electrical drawings.
  • Working knowledge of industrial power and lighting applications, including electrical safety and power distribution.
  • Solid experience with process instrumentation and knowledge of Operational Technology (OT) systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hands-on experience with FANUC and SIEMENS systems.
  • Experience with AVEVA InTouch or Batch Management software.
  • Engineering or operations experience with consumer-packaged goods packaging equipment.
