About the position

The Electrical Instrumentation and Controls Engineer (EIC Engineer) at Clorox will serve as the subject matter expert for control systems at the site, collaborating with maintenance and operations teams to resolve control system failures. This role involves managing capital projects, providing technical expertise, and improving equipment uptime to enhance plant reliability. The EIC Engineer will also lead and supervise engineering firms and contractors while sharing technical knowledge with the maintenance team.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to resolve control systems and process failures.
  • Manage capital projects including design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup of EIC projects.
  • Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting control system failures and identifying solutions.
  • Work with engineering, maintenance, and operations to implement changes for process improvements and system upgrades.
  • Improve equipment uptime and contribute to plant reliability efforts.
  • Develop and implement standards to maintain controls architecture and integrity.
  • Provide engineering technical support to maintenance and plant operations for performance, safety, and quality improvements.
  • Lead and supervise engineering firms, construction contractors, and equipment vendors.
  • Share technical expertise to build controls knowledge within the maintenance team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Engineering, Maintenance, Project Management, or Plant Operations.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology required.
  • Experience leading and participating in capital projects with EIC technicians.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with experience delivering process improvements.
  • Strong working knowledge of Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley suite or similar PLC and controls products.
  • Strong understanding of industrial controls networks, particularly Ethernet IP.
  • Ability to develop, read, and interpret electrical drawings.
  • Working knowledge of industrial power and lighting applications, including electrical safety and power distribution.
  • Solid experience with process instrumentation and knowledge of Operational Technology (OT) systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Hands-on experience with FANUC and SIEMENS systems.
  • Experience with AVEVA InTouch or Batch Management software.
  • Engineering or operations experience with consumer-packaged goods packaging equipment.
