About the position
Merrick & Company is offering a paid summer internship for Electrical Engineering students at their Greenwood Village, CO office. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on technical experience in Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls (EI&C) while working on real client projects. The internship runs from mid-May to mid-August 2025, with a focus on professional training and development.
Responsibilities
- Gain technical experience in Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls (EI&C).
- Work on facility electrical power, gloveboxes, hot cells, lighting, grounding, lightning protection, communication systems, and low voltage power.
- Collaborate with other disciplines and interface with clients and contractors.
- Follow schedules and budget commitments.
- Problem solve and work independently.
- Meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.
Requirements
- Pursuing an engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- Currently enrolled and entering junior year or higher of undergraduate degree or currently enrolled in grad school.
- US Citizenship required for client projects.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of electrical, lighting, and/or power system design.
- Knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit).
- Knowledge of power distribution design software (SKM PowerTools, Easy Power, ETAP).
- Local candidates preferred.
