About the position

The Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering Intern position at EDG Inc. offers an opportunity for students to gain practical experience in the field of electrical engineering. Interns will work under the supervision of experienced engineers, assisting in various tasks related to electrical and instrumentation engineering, while adhering to established standards and procedures. This role is designed for individuals currently enrolled in a relevant engineering program, providing exposure to real-world challenges and software used in the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Professional Engineers in the preparation and review of calculations.
  • Prepare and review equipment and instrument data sheets.
  • Prepare and review specifications for equipment, cables, trays, and control systems.
  • Prepare and review test and commissioning procedures.
  • Review and check electrical and instrumentation controls drawings/packages.
  • Utilize software for preparation of design, bid, and construction packages.
  • Participate in weekly team planning and project meetings.
  • Attend client conference calls and meetings.
  • Accompany engineering staff on local client site visits to develop project scopes of work.
  • Prepare spreadsheets and documentation as needed.
  • Work under the supervision of an experienced Electrical and/or Instrumentation Engineer.
  • Gain exposure to a variety of electrical, instrumentation, and control system challenges in the design of electrical systems and facilities across multiple industries.
  • Gain exposure to various software packages used in the operations of an Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering department.

Requirements

  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Enrollment in a four-year baccalaureate program for Electrical Engineering or an Engineering program with an Electrical focus at an accredited college or university in the United States required.
  • Expected graduation between December 2025 and May 2027.
  • Candidate must provide a resume as well as college or university transcripts.
