About the position

The Electrical Journeyman will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings. This role requires a high level of technical skill and attention to detail, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and regulations while promoting safety in all operations. The position is crucial for the safe and efficient operation of electrical equipment and involves troubleshooting electrical issues with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Put safety first and production second.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, components, and equipment according to local and national electrical codes.
• Collaborate with construction teams to plan and execute electrical installations in new and existing structures.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to identify and address potential issues before they become problems.
• Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions in a timely and efficient manner.
• Utilize testing equipment to identify faults and determine the appropriate course of action for resolution.
• Ensure all work complies with relevant electrical codes, safety standards, and regulations.
• Implement and promote safety protocols to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries.
• Stay informed about industry trends, changes in regulations, and advancements in electrical technology.
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including installations, repairs, and inspections.
• Maintain the attitude and skills to complete lower job title (apprentice) work.
• Maintain an understanding of Electrical theory and NFPA 70 National Electric Code.
• Continue to work towards training and certifications for work-related jobs.
• Ensure the highest level of safety and quality control requirements are upheld.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 12 months of experience in electrical work or related field.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.

Nice-to-haves

• Additional certifications in electrical work or safety training.
• Experience in commercial and industrial electrical systems.
