About the position
The Electrical Lineman is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical distribution and transmission systems. This role involves working with various electrical components and ensuring safety practices are adhered to while performing tasks in diverse weather conditions.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical distribution and transmission systems, including conduits, cables, wires, and related equipment.
- Adhere to safety practices and procedures, such as checking equipment regularly and erecting barriers around work areas.
- Drive vehicles equipped with tools and materials to job sites.
- Open switches or attach grounding devices to remove electrical hazards from disturbed or fallen lines or to facilitate repairs.
- Climb poles or use truck-mounted buckets to access equipment.
- Supervise CPN personnel and outside contractors in the building, repair, and maintenance of substations and distribution systems.
- Price, source, and purchase appropriate inventory of repair parts and materials for new construction.
- Perform other duties and projects as required by Administration and Management.
