About the position

The Electrical Maintenance Engineer or Technical Support Specialist at Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is responsible for implementing engineering solutions to meet Department of Energy (DOE) standards. This role involves technical responsibility for program phases, collaboration on process improvements, and ensuring facility modifications are properly managed. The position requires a strong engineering background and the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team to address complex engineering challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Assume technical responsibility for one or more phases of a program and/or ownership for unit operations within processing facilities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide innovative improvements to existing processes.
  • Provide solutions that require in-depth analysis of multiple factors and the creative use of established methods.
  • Ensure facility modifications are designed, reviewed, approved, implemented, tested, documented, and tracked using formal work and change control processes.
  • Perform informal walk downs to observe general conditions and identify issues such as unauthorized modifications or abnormal equipment performance.
  • Specific job responsibilities may include project engineering support, facility engineering support, and developing various engineering diagrams and specifications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree in a non-Engineering discipline with related operations or maintenance experience (for Senior Engineering Technical Support Specialist II).
  • BS Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Nuclear Engineering or related engineering discipline from an accredited college or university with professional engineering experience (for Senior Engineer I).

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of advanced engineering principles and practices.
  • Working knowledge of National Codes and Standards.
  • Ability to perform walkdowns.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a changing environment with multiple demands and priorities.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
