About the position

The Electrical Maintenance Technician - Journey is responsible for performing specialized electrical maintenance tasks under general supervision. This role involves installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facility equipment, ensuring adherence to safety procedures and industry best practices. The technician will work on HVAC, Ammonia Refrigeration, and electrical systems across multiple locations, providing critical support to production schedules and responding to emergency situations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Installs and maintains diverse HVAC, Ammonia Refrigeration, and/or Electrical Systems
  • Performs general and preventative maintenance on all compressors and HVAC systems, changing filters and replacing worn parts
  • Ensures calibration of thermostats, RTDs, and other controls
  • Performs mechanical and electrical checks on motors and belts and handles lubrication duties
  • Maintains and repairs HVAC, Ammonia Refrigeration, and/or Electrical systems at multiple DFV locations
  • Reads wiring schematics and diagrams for all equipment
  • Performs diagnostics and determines root cause of malfunctions on HVAC, Ammonia Refrigeration, and/or Electrical systems
  • Responds to emergency situations to resolve issues immediately
  • Replaces faulty or expired parts
  • Provides critical support to production schedules ensuring customer delivery commitments are met

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; AA/AS degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is a plus
  • Completion of a craft apprenticeship or equivalent years of education and production maintenance experience; winery experience preferred
  • 7 years' experience in specialized field of knowledge
  • In-depth knowledge of refrigeration cycles, components, and troubleshooting
  • Understanding of basic electron theory, AC and DC currents, and ability to read wiring diagrams
  • Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Knowledge of physical principles and applications to fluid and material dynamics
