About the position

The Electrical Maintenance Technician at International Crankshaft Incorporated is responsible for ensuring the safety, quality, and productivity of electrical and mechanical equipment. This role involves performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on various electrical systems within an industrial environment. The technician will work on a 12-hour shift schedule, with opportunities for overtime and skill-based pay increases.

Responsibilities

  • Install, test, repair, and maintain electrical or electronic plant production machinery and support equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints to determine the layout of electrical wiring and equipment.
  • Perform electrical work in accordance with local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations.
  • Use hand tools and power tools to install and connect wiring, switches, and other electrical components.
  • Test electrical systems for proper operation and safety.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and make necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Install switch gear, motors, transformers, etc.
  • Write, program, troubleshoot, modify and/or repair programmable logic controllers, CNC machines, robotics, and other electronic equipment.
  • Assist in diagnosing electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and similar problems and apply appropriate corrective action.
  • Participate in training directed at increasing job-related trade skills.

Requirements

  • 3 years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of low voltage and high voltage electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Technical knowledge in PLCs, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and motion/motor control.
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools effectively and safely.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Electrical degree, diploma, or certification of completion for studies of electricity.
  • Documentation of any state Journeyman's Electrical License (current or expired).
