About the position

Cargill is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I to join our global team of 160,000 employees dedicated to safe, responsible, and sustainable practices in the food industry. This position is located in California, MO, within Cargill's protein and salt business, which provides high-quality food products to a diverse customer base, including foodservice operators, grocery stores, manufacturers, and exporters. The Maintenance Mechanic I will play a crucial role in maintaining and troubleshooting production or warehouse machinery, focusing on multiple trades with regular guidance. In this role, you will be responsible for utilizing maintenance and reliability practices to perform preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance. Your efforts will ensure that all assets are effectively maintained, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the facility. The position requires a commitment to food safety and quality, as well as maintaining cleanliness and housekeeping standards within the work environment. The Maintenance Mechanic I will work rotating shifts from Thursday to Saturday, from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and will be compensated at a rate of $25.20 per hour. Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and troubleshoot production or warehouse machinery.
  • Utilize maintenance and reliability practices to complete preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance.
  • Ensure assets are maintained to ensure effectiveness of the facility.
  • Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards in the work environment.
  • Ensure food safety and quality standards are met.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Must be able to understand and use blueprints, schematics, and installation/operation manuals to install and repair equipment.
  • Previous maintenance experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3+ years previous maintenance experience.
  • Previous Cargill experience.
  • Work history in the past 12 months.
  • Ability to work with a variety of hand tools.
