About the position

Bilfinger Industrial Services Inc. is seeking an Electrical Planner/Field Engineer for our Alexandria, LA site location. This position is designed for a self-motivated individual who will play a crucial role in the detailed planning and scheduling of construction work. The successful candidate will ensure that all projects are executed safely and in accordance with design specifications, budget constraints, and schedule requirements. The Electrical Planner/Field Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the electrical work assigned to them, which includes estimating project costs, performing detailed material take-offs, and sizing conduit and wiring in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). Additionally, this role involves requisitioning field materials and supervising a small team of electrical maintenance technicians who will execute the planned work. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management, along with a two-year Electrical Technician Diploma or 5 to 10 years of experience in electrical estimating and planning within heavy industrial or manufacturing plant construction or maintenance operations. Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent time management and organizational abilities, are essential for success in this role. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is also required.
