About the position

The Electrical Power Systems Engineer will provide engineering support to NASA's Deep Space Logistics (DSL) Project at the Kennedy Space Center. This role involves performing analysis and integration tasks related to power generation, energy management, and power distribution for the Gateway Logistics Services. The engineer will be responsible for data gathering, synthesis, and presenting findings to program integration forums, ensuring the effective delivery of power resources for various mission projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform EPS analysis support functions including data gathering and synthesis.
  • Produce integrated analysis cycle systems engineering and integration trade studies.
  • Prepare and present results, findings, and recommendations to program integration forums related to Gateway and Logistic Module power generation.
  • Provide products to integrate and mature the Gateway Logistic Module power resource management.
  • Support definition of EPS interfaces for the delivery of power including hardware/software integration requirements.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Engineering (Metallurgical, Mechanical, Chemical, Ceramic, or Materials Science) from an ABET accredited engineering school and a minimum of seven (7) years of related engineering experience, or a MS degree with five (5) years of experience, or a Ph.D. with three (3) years of experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to critically assess manufacturing/material processes and designs.
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of NASA standards and material data requirements for spaceflight hardware.
  • Familiarity with metallic and nonmetallic materials specifications, properties, testing, and additive manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with desktop software applications, specifically MS Office.
