About the position

The Electrical Engineer II role is an experienced level position that involves performing routine to moderately complex engineering functions on assigned projects or sub-projects of a general nature. This position requires the application of standard mathematical, physical science, and engineering technologies. The engineer will assist in the design and project/process management of new and current projects, products, programs, components, tools, and acceptance equipment under the technical guidance of higher-level technical experts. In this role, the engineer will prepare product or project definitions, manufacturing drawings, specifications, operating procedures, and test equipment designs. They will be responsible for designing products and acceptance equipment, developing measurement methods, and acquiring and designating tooling, cables, laboratory, and other equipment to support product acceptance. The engineer will also develop test procedures and perform routine to moderately complex engineering evaluation tests, product and process capability studies, quality audits, product or project data reviews, and other engineering evaluation work to ensure product manufacturability. Additionally, the engineer will conduct audits, analyze processes, products, and inspection records to anticipate, identify, and correct problems, establishing quality levels and trends. They will partner with internal and external stakeholders to assist in resolving moderately complex development, production, and acceptance issues. The engineer will prepare evaluation reports, analyze discrepancies, and make recommendations for improvements for products.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and/or project/process management of new and current projects, products, programs, components, tools, and acceptance equipment under technical guidance of higher-level technical experts.
  • Prepare product or project definitions, manufacturing drawings and specifications, operating procedures, and test equipment designs.
  • Design product and acceptance equipment; develop measurement methods, acquire, and designate tooling, cables, laboratory and other equipment to support product acceptance.
  • Develop test procedures and perform routine to moderately complex engineering evaluation tests, product and process capability studies, quality audits, product or project data reviews, and other engineering evaluation work to assure product manufacturability.
  • Conduct audits, analyze processes, products, and inspection records to anticipate, identify, and correct problems and to establish quality levels and trends.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to assist in resolving moderately complex development, production, and acceptance issues.
  • Prepare evaluation reports, analyze discrepancies, and make recommendations for and initiate improvements for products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited university in Engineering or Physics.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in engineering, analytical, or related technical activities.
  • Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and determined by the needs of the business.
  • United States Citizenship.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated analytical skills, mathematical computations, computer software applications, and written documentation.
  • Demonstrated established technical methodologies to routine engineering projects.
  • Ability to analyze engineering drawings and specifications to develop effective acceptance processes and improve existing processes.
  • Familiarization with GD&T Concepts.
