About the position

As an Arc Flash Coordinator in Y-12 Mission Engineering, you will be responsible for managing the Y-12 Arc Flash Assessment Request and Tracking System, management and coordination of the Y-12 Arc Flash 5-Year Evaluation/Re-Certification Program, performing duties as a Subcontract Technical Representative for multiple Extended Life Program contracts for preparation of configuration managed power one-line drawings, ETAP models and Design Calculations, maintaining the Arc Flash Engineering Standard, coordinating Arc Flash Evaluation information with Electrical/I&C Design Engineering and Y-12 Infrastructure Power Operations, and coordinating Arc Flash Label preparation and application with Y-12 Infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Management and coordination of the Y-12 Arc Flash 5-Year Evaluation/Re-Certification Program

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering/physical science discipline from an ABET accredited program with a minimum 3.0/4.0 cumulative GPA
  • Or a Master's degree in engineering/physical science discipline with a minimum 3.3/4.0 cumulative GPA
  • Or a PhD in engineering/physical science discipline with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree (or two years with a Master's degree)
  • Working experience with and demonstrated knowledge of electrical codes
  • Must meet the requirements of DOE O 426.2

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • Demonstrated management or leadership experience
  • Extensive technical expertise and full knowledge of related engineering systems
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, IEEE 1584, IEEE C2
  • Experience with power system calculations using ETAP software
  • Experience with power system drawings
  • Ability to analyze large sets of data and create metrics reports using Microsoft Excel or Access
  • Ability to conduct formal presentations
  • Ability to present information clearly and effectively
  • Demonstrated technical capabilities, leadership, and work ethic
  • Ability to work in a project team environment
