About the position

Farnsworth Group is seeking a mid to senior-level Electrical Project Engineer/Designer to join their team in Greenwood Village, Colorado. This role involves leading the design and production of complex electrical systems for various projects, including commercial and municipal applications. The position emphasizes collaboration, professional growth, and a commitment to quality and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day production of electrical design projects.
  • Assume multi-project responsibilities for full electrical design, including power distribution, lighting, telecommunications, and renewable energy systems.
  • Conduct code research and application for projects.
  • Perform fieldwork to ascertain existing conditions.
  • Develop preliminary schematics through final designs and calculations.
  • Specify, size, and layout equipment for projects.
  • Coordinate with other production staff and disciplines.
  • Prepare accurate electrical system construction drawings and specifications.
  • Review submittals and manage construction administration.
  • Mentor engineers, designers, and drafters.

Requirements

  • 4-12 years of experience in technically complex system design as an electrical engineer/designer.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer License (PE) preferred.
  • Experience with industrial power and MV systems design.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in power engineering.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and standards, including National Electrical Code and IEEE Standards.
  • Ability to pass background checks and comply with immunization requirements for industrial clients.

Nice-to-haves

  • NCEES Record holder preferred.
  • Knowledge of Navisworks software preferred.
  • Familiarity with SKM PowerTools or ETap preferred.
