Full-time - Mid Level
Houston, TX

About the position

Core Group Resources is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, designing, analyzing, testing, and implementing new or improved designs primarily focused on electrical, electro-hydraulic, and electro-pneumatic systems, along with associated controls and instrumentation. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles and the ability to apply them to real-world applications in the marine offshore market, finance, IT, renewables, and non-profit sectors. In this position, you will perform power studies on low voltage (LV) and medium voltage (MV) electrical equipment, plan and design electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, assemblies, sub-assemblies, and components. You will also conduct electrical system circuit, controls, and power distribution design and analysis on generator sets, A/C powered well stimulation and drilling machinery, and hybrid drive specialty off-road vehicles. Your expertise will be crucial in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports. You will assess electrical engineering needs for new and existing projects, applying existing engineering designs or developing new designs as necessary. Maintaining documentation to fulfill regulatory requirements, including ISO 9001, is essential. You will also delegate work to and direct Designers and/or Drafters in the development of complex new designs or the implementation of Engineering Change Requests (ECRs). Assisting drafters in developing the electrical design of products using drafting tools or computer-assisted design/drafting equipment and software will be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will design products for all electrical functions typically found in diesel engine-driven rotating machinery, develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods, and specify system components or direct modifications to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications. Investigating complex equipment failures and recommending design modifications to eliminate such malfunctions will be a key aspect of your role. You will oversee the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of machines and equipment to ensure they are functioning according to specifications. Conducting research to test and analyze the feasibility, design, operation, and performance of equipment, components, and systems will also be part of your duties.
