About the position
Wiley|Wilson is seeking a highly skilled Professional Engineer specializing in Medium Voltage System Design to join their employee-owned architecture and engineering firm. This role involves leading the design and implementation of medium voltage systems that support critical infrastructure and client growth, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute medium voltage system design projects from inception to completion.
- Conduct feasibility studies, load flow analyses, short circuit analyses, and voltage drop calculations.
- Develop comprehensive engineering designs, including the selection and specification of equipment such as transformers, switchgear, cables, and protective devices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical designers, technicians, and project managers.
Requirements
- 6-10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Registered Professional Engineer in Virginia or able to obtain reciprocity within three months of the start date.
- Field knowledge of medium and low voltage electrical distribution systems.
- Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD, with familiarity in system modeling software (e.g., ETAP, SKM).
- Knowledge of sustainable design practices.
- Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States and obtain a security clearance.

- Prior consulting experience, especially in federal government design projects.
