As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our Water/Wastewater group, focusing on projects that enhance community access to clean water and sustainable wastewater management. In this role, you will be responsible for presenting complex technical solutions to clients and participating in the development of technical proposals. You will design low voltage and medium voltage electrical distribution systems and building services, preparing engineering studies, reports, calculations, designs, specifications, and construction cost estimates in compliance with applicable codes and standards. Your expertise will be essential in establishing electrical equipment performance parameters based on project requirements and coordinating with equipment vendors to refine preliminary selections. As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will manage designs during construction, including shop drawing reviews, responding to information requests, and generating punch lists. You will provide quality assurance oversight and independent quality control reviews to support deliverables developed by others, ensuring that calculations, plans, specifications, and engineering reports meet the highest standards. You will also develop engineering fee estimates, assist with technical proposal preparation, and participate in client presentations, all while working within a project team environment and collaborating with design professionals and project managers across various locations. Your role will involve occasional light local and national travel to project sites, and you will have the opportunity to manage, mentor, and recruit engineering and support staff. You will perform electrical system designs, including switchgears, switchboards, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, generators, transformers, distribution panels, and other electrical distribution system components. Additionally, you will prepare design drawings, including single line diagrams, electrical plans, wiring schematics, and schedules, contributing to the successful delivery of projects that have a lasting impact on communities.
