About the position

Audubon, an EPC company based in Houston, is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the performance and compliance of contractors involved in the power systems (both medium voltage and low voltage) and distribution within our LNG facility. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in gas processing or LNG facilities to monitor and guide the engineering processes effectively. As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that the EPC contractor delivers process engineering work and deliverables that meet established standards, specifications, FEED design, and contractual requirements. You will collaborate closely with the Engineering team to ensure that the overall design is safe, fit for purpose, and operates reliably. Your technical expertise will be essential during HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, and MOC reviews, where you will provide insights and recommendations to enhance project safety and efficiency. In addition to technical oversight, you will assist in reviewing process documents, guidelines, and project specifications, ensuring timely follow-up on all deliverables. Your role will also involve maintaining effective communication with other engineering, operational, and functional team members, calling for support from other disciplines when multi-discipline technical issues arise. You will be responsible for maintaining the technical integrity of the engineering and design within your discipline, answering technical queries and RFIs from contractors, and participating in key design reviews to ensure readiness and compliance with project standards. This position requires a proactive approach to monitoring changes against the baseline scope and ensuring that the project is executed in accordance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project schedules. Your contributions will be vital in driving the success of our projects and maintaining Audubon's reputation for operational excellence in the energy industry.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the EPC contractor delivers process engineering work and deliverables in accordance with standards, specifications, FEED design and contractual requirements.
  • Work with the Engineering team to ensure the overall design is safe, fit for purpose and will operate reliably.
  • Participate and provide technical expertise on the HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA and Review of MOC.
  • Assist with reviewing process documents, guidelines and project specifications, and follow-up on due time.
  • Ensure that the project is executed in accordance with the organization’s safety regulations, with quality conformance and within schedule.
  • Assist with reviewing Project philosophies, design specifications and other related documents.
  • Ensure efficient communication with other company engineering, operational and functional team members.
  • Call for support from other engineering disciplines when multi-discipline technical issues arise.
  • Responsible for maintaining technical integrity of the engineering & design for their particular engineering discipline.
  • Answer Technical Queries and RFIs from contractors.
  • Participate in key design review and ensure design review readiness.
  • Monitors changes against baseline scope.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET Accredited Institution.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role.
  • PE license preferred.
  • Medium/large multi-discipline project lead experience preferred.
  • Gas pretreatment systems experience required.
  • Technical knowledge of all relevant codes and material specifications.
  • Proficient in reviewing P&IDs, Control Systems, Equipment Sizing, producing/reviewing process datasheets, technical evaluations of vendor packages.
  • Good communication skills.
