About the position

H2M architects + engineers is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to join their Electrical Department. This role involves project design and development tasks, including creating drawings, calculations, cost estimates, and specifications for public and commercial buildings. The engineer will coordinate with other engineering and architecture departments, maintain client relationships, and manage construction administration tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and a commitment to collaboration and sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Project design and development tasks, including drawings, calculations, cost estimates, and specifications related to public and commercial building types.
  • Design of electrical systems such as power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm.
  • Project coordination with other engineering and architecture departments.
  • Maintain client relationships and respond to questions and comments.
  • Construction administration including attending project meetings, reviewing contractor submittals, and providing clarifications when required.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
  • 5 years of experience with a consulting engineering firm designing power, distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
  • EIT, PE preferred.
  • High level of technical performance with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work productively and cooperatively with team members and clients.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and Easy Power desired.
  • Experience with IT infrastructure and network communications is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • EIT, PE certification preferred.
