About the position

The Electrical Project Manager at Scalo Solar Solutions is responsible for leading the management, installation, and maintenance of photovoltaic systems across various commercial and residential projects. This role requires a strong electrical background and expertise in solar energy systems, ensuring that all project aspects are effectively coordinated and executed.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of solar project installation and maintenance.
  • Review contract documents and drawings, working with engineers to update as needed for permitting and as-built drawings.
  • Identify, procure, and allocate all project requirements including permits, materials, and labor.
  • Manage coordination between clients, engineers, architects, utility companies, inspectors, subcontractors, and the home office.
  • Create and revise project schedules (GANTT) weekly to meet project needs and maintain project notes and records.
  • Monitor project budget and evaluate production metrics regularly.
  • Attend weekly operations meetings with the Solar Vice President and General Manager.
  • Communicate relevant project information to clients and the company through weekly meetings and reports.
  • Handle communications regarding maintenance of existing systems and allocate resources to correct issues promptly.
  • Monitor company-owned systems for performance and provide monthly production reports for billing purposes.
  • Attend monthly billing meetings and enforce company standards, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of electrical or solar-specific construction experience, with a strong emphasis on electrical systems and commercial projects.
  • 2+ years of project management experience, including managing project schedules, budgets, and client communications.
  • NABCEP PV Installation Professional Certification preferred or willingness to acquire training and take the exam.
  • Thorough understanding of the National Electric Code (NEC) and willingness to continue education on NEC changes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical wiring diagrams, and architectural plans.
  • Demonstrated hyper-organization, analytical skills, and critical thinking with experience in performance improvement.
  • Self-motivated to complete projects autonomously and improve personal and company performance.
  • Willingness to travel to jobsites, both local and occasionally remote locations.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in solar energy systems management.
  • Familiarity with project management software.
