About the position

The Electrical Project Manager will oversee the design, build, and programming of electrical control systems and manage the manufacturing of parts and components at the Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMC). This role is crucial for providing technical and machining support to Maine industry, facilitating research and development functions, and contributing to the economic development efforts of the state while also educating university student interns.

Responsibilities

• Direct tasks associated with the design, build, and programming of electrical control systems.
• Manage the manufacturing of parts and components necessary for the AMC's mission.
• Facilitate outreach and design efforts for equipment testing and manufacturing.
• Provide technical and machining support to Maine industry and the University System's R&D functions.
• Educate and mentor university student interns.

Requirements

• M.S. in a related Engineering field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five or more years of relevant professional experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet constant deadlines.
• Ability to interact effectively with industry members.

Nice-to-haves

• Electrician License.
• Substantial experience in project management.
• Significant experience in electrical design, cabinet building, programming, environmental and mechanical testing systems, machine design, engineering design, industrial hygiene, QC, metrology, 3D CAD and CAM.
• Experience advising and directing student research.
