About the position

The Electrical Project Manager at the University of Arizona Global Campus will oversee the design, build, and programming of electrical control systems, as well as the manufacturing of parts and components. This role is crucial for supporting the Advanced Manufacturing Center's mission, which includes providing technical and machining support to Maine industry, facilitating research and development functions, and educating university student interns.

Responsibilities

• Direct tasks associated with the design, build, and programming of electrical control systems.
• Manage the manufacturing of parts and components for the Advanced Manufacturing Center.
• Conduct outreach and design for equipment necessary to support the center's mission.
• Test equipment to ensure it meets the required specifications and standards.
• Provide technical and machining support to Maine industry and the University System's R&D functions.

Requirements

• M.S. in a related Engineering field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five or more years of relevant professional experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet constant deadlines.
• Ability to interact effectively with industry members.

Nice-to-haves

• Electrician License.
• Substantial experience in project management.
• Significant experience in electrical design and cabinet building, programming, environmental and mechanical testing systems, machine design, engineering design, industrial hygiene, QC, metrology, 3D CAD and CAM.
• Experience advising and directing student research.
