About the position

The Electrical Project Manager at Queue Electrical Contractors INC is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing electrical projects from inception to completion. This role involves managing project budgets, timelines, and scopes while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. The successful candidate will collaborate with various teams and communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to deliver successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage project schedules, milestones, and deliverables to ensure timely project completion.
  • Develop comprehensive project budgets, monitor costs, and implement cost-saving measures when possible.
  • Provide regular project updates to clients and stakeholders, informing them of project status, risks, and milestones.
  • Procure and coordinate necessary materials, equipment, and subcontractors for each project.
  • Attend and run project meetings.
  • Evaluate project team performance, providing feedback, coaching, and training as needed.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and project closeout documents.
  • Address any project-related issues, conflicts, or delays promptly and effectively, seeking solutions that maintain project progress.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Identify areas of process improvement and implement best practices to enhance project efficiency and profitability.
  • Oversee the work of subcontracts, ensuring they adhere to project specifications and safety guidelines.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of Project Manager experience required
  • Experience in Commercial/Residential Projects; Public works experience is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in the electrical contracting/engineering field
  • Familiarity with electrical design, codes, and regulations (e.g., NECA)
  • Strong organizational & multi-tasking skills with attention to detail
  • Comfortable with on-site and field visits and in communicating with clients, field supervisors, and foremen
  • Strong business acumen in project planning and management
  • Strong stakeholder outreach and engagement capabilities including advanced public speaking and presentation skills
  • High level of communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore) and the Microsoft Suite
  • Practical knowledge of construction processes
  • Ability to travel within the Tri-State area, Long Island, and New Jersey

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with FDNY inspection paperwork for fire alarm inspections
  • MTA, NJ Transit & Metro North experience
  • Spanish language proficiency
