About the position

Scalo Solar Solutions is seeking an Electrical Project Manager to lead the management, installation, and maintenance of photovoltaic systems across various commercial and residential projects. This role demands a strong electrical background and expertise in solar energy systems. The Electrical Project Manager will oversee all aspects of solar project installations and maintenance, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of clients. The position requires a proactive approach to project management, including the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and manage resources effectively. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing contract documents and drawings, working closely with engineers to update drawings as needed for permitting and as-built documentation. They will identify, procure, and allocate all aspects of project requirements, including permits, materials, and labor necessary for installation. The Electrical Project Manager will manage coordination between various parties involved in the project, including clients, engineers, architects, utility companies, authorities having jurisdiction, inspectors, subcontractors, and the home office. Additionally, the role involves creating and maintaining a project schedule (GANTT) and revising it weekly to meet project needs. The manager will monitor the project budget, evaluate production metrics regularly, and attend weekly operations meetings with the Solar Vice President and General Manager. Effective communication of relevant project information to clients and the company through weekly project meetings and reports is essential. The manager will also handle communications regarding the maintenance of existing systems, allocate resources to address issues promptly, and monitor company-owned systems for performance, providing monthly production reports for billing purposes. Attendance at monthly billing meetings and the enforcement of company standards, policies, and procedures are also key responsibilities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of electrical or solar specific construction experience, with a strong emphasis on electrical systems and commercial projects.
  • 2+ years of project management experience, including managing project schedules, budgets, and client communications.
  • NABCEP PV Installation Professional Certification preferred or willingness to acquire training and take the NABCEP PV Installation Professional exam.
  • Thorough understanding of the National Electric Code (NEC) and willingness to continue education in changes to the NEC.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical wiring diagrams, and architectural plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to be hyper-organized, analytical, and a critical thinker, with experience in performance improvement.
  • Self-motivated to complete projects autonomously and improve personal and company performance.
  • Willingness to travel to jobsites, both local and occasionally remote locations.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with experience in client and team communication.
