About the position

The Reliability Engineer position at EDG Inc. is a critical role focused on enhancing the reliability of electrical equipment within the Oil & Gas sector. This position is responsible for leading initiatives that maximize equipment reliability through the development and optimization of maintenance strategies, repair and spare parts strategies, and the establishment of equipment standards for various electrical components such as motors, Motor Control Centers, Variable Frequency Drives, and Transformers. The engineer will collaborate across multiple departments including Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Integrity, Infrastructure, EHS, and Global Supply Chain to support various projects related to Wells & Pads, Gas/Oil/Water Gathering, and Gas Plant operations. In this role, the engineer will conduct reliability improvement activities, which include facilitating root cause analysis for equipment failures, confirming the implementation of countermeasures, and recommending upgrades to enhance reliability while reducing maintenance costs. The engineer will also analyze predictive maintenance data to initiate corrective actions and will be responsible for developing and reporting on key performance indicators related to equipment reliability. Additionally, the Reliability Engineer will provide troubleshooting support for electrical equipment, participate in the development of scopes for critical equipment repairs, and advise Process and Reliability Engineers on equipment capabilities and improvement opportunities. The role also involves supporting infrastructure projects by providing input on reliability, maintainability, and operability, ensuring that new equipment installations adhere to best practices. The engineer will review electrical installation drawings for compliance with company and industry standards, ensuring that all modifications and installations are carried out effectively and safely.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize equipment maintenance strategies for electrical equipment.
  • Facilitate bad actor and root cause analysis related to fixed equipment.
  • Confirm implementation and effectiveness of countermeasures developed.
  • Recommend and implement upgrades/modifications to equipment to increase reliability.
  • Analyze predictive maintenance data and initiate follow-on corrective work.
  • Develop, review data, and report out on key performance indicators.
  • Work with Operations and Maintenance personnel to troubleshoot electrical equipment.
  • Participate in scope development and repair of critical equipment.
  • Act as an adviser to Process and Reliability Engineers concerning equipment capabilities.
  • Support Infrastructure projects by providing reliability input as a representative of the Maintenance team.
  • Provide technical advice and assurance for modification of existing assets using the Management of Change process.
  • Evaluate proposed pilot initiatives for technical viability and coordinate implementation efforts for electrical equipment initiatives.
  • Review electrical installation drawings for reliability and compliance with codes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering.
  • Preferred history of utilizing Reliability Centered Maintenance tools.
  • Experience in root cause failure analysis and FMEA.
  • Strong knowledge in general plant and oil & gas equipment such as Electric Motors, Motor Control Centers, Variable Frequency Drives, and Electrical Distribution Systems.
  • Proficient in MS Office and SAP.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70e and Electrical Safety Programs is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Spotfire and Sequel is a plus.
