About the position

The Electrical Safety Program Manager facilitates organizational understanding and compliance with a variety of EHS-related international, federal, state, and local regulations such as: OSHA, EPA, NESC, ISO and NFPA and electrical safety/industry best practices. The role has a core function of ensuring field electrical safety through program development, implementation, auditing and improvement for both US and international operations. This role is responsible for the development of key elements of the NovaSource Power EHS and Technical training program. The position is based on site at our Corporate Head Quarters in Chandler, AZ or our Houston, TX office and will require moderate travel, approximately 30% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Owner of electrical safety program, including requirements, procedures and auditing.
  • Designated SME for NSPS solar technician electrical safety qualification and training development.
  • Owner of arc flash safety program, and initiatives associated with arc flash safety program improvements.
  • Contributes to continual improvement culture by working with operational teams to improve SOP's involving tasks with electrical risk.
  • Shares electrical safety industry lessons learned and best practices with organization and works with operational team on implementation.
  • Assists with other EHS-related projects and initiatives.
  • Supports EHS, Field and Technical teams as needed.
  • Independent problem-solving of complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating critical issues appropriately.

Requirements

  • An ideal candidate would be an MV/HV electrician with senior-level O&M technician experience in the field with utility-scale energy power plants or an EHS professional with experience managing MV/HV electrical safety program.
  • Experience with rooftop safety, aerial lift, scissor lift, forklift, and defensive driving training - Preferred.
  • Must be a team player and willing to work with various business units and the global EHS team, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience managing and maintaining records.
  • Fluent in English (reading and writing); multi-lingual strongly preferred (Spanish or Arabic).
  • Knowledge of US state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations.
  • International operational or compliance experience working in Australia, Chile, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and/or EU preferred.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize work and follow through on deliverables.
  • Must be able to work independently and is a self-motivator.
  • Ability to work in a quick-moving, multi-time zone environment.
  • Strong organizational and technical writing skills, with special attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SalesForce, and SharePoint.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills are preferred.

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent industry recognized professional certification preferred.
