About the position

The Electrical Senior Principal Engineering Technologist role at Dell Technologies involves leading the hardware development lifecycle from concept to production. This position focuses on designing and developing electrical architecture for mobile equipment, ensuring compatibility with existing products, and overseeing experimental tests. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet various design requirements and maintain high standards of manufacturability and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical architecture for mobile equipment and their hardware systems.
• Drive system architecture definition for assigned program, ensuring consistency with other products.
• Oversee experimental/proof of concept tests and evaluate results.
• Select components based on analysis of specifications, cost, continuity of supply, and reliability.
• Review original design manufacturer and sub-tier vendor proposals to support product development.
• Ensure designs integrate with other product functions including mechanical and software.
• Create and maintain required documentation including specifications.
• Support specialized electrical sub-systems such as power, batteries, communications, graphics, and memory.

Requirements

• 5-10 years' experience in product design.
• Deep knowledge of X86 and/or ARM architecture.
• Prior mobile EE architecture experience.
• Technical experience in OS integration.
• Strong aptitude to assess and optimize products by making proper feature tradeoffs.

Nice-to-haves

• BS in Electrical Engineering or Graduate Degree.
• Experience working with Asian ODM partners and running a core team.
