About the position

The Electrical Senior Project Engineer for First Class Seating at Collins Aerospace is responsible for leading the development of innovative solutions to complex technical challenges in the aerospace sector. This role emphasizes vision, leadership, and collaboration across multiple disciplines to enhance the passenger experience through advanced electrical systems design and integration. The engineer will manage projects from conception to execution, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute complex, multi-disciplinary projects, developing detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison for customers, effectively communicating project updates and technical insights.
  • Mentor and guide engineers, fostering an environment of continuous learning and collaboration.
  • Conduct critical path analysis and develop work-around plans to achieve project goals.
  • Drive product research, design, development, integration, and testing to meet program requirements.
  • Coordinate and lead design reviews with internal stakeholders.
  • Proactively identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Represent Collins Aerospace as a key technical expert in customer meetings and industry forums.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree and 3 years of experience, or 9 years of relevant experience without a degree.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in Siemens PLM tools (Teamcenter and NX).
  • Strong knowledge of interior electrical harness design and routing, aircraft electrical interfaces, and seat actuation systems.
  • Familiarity with In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) supplier Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) and system integration.
  • Understanding of FAA and EASA requirements and aircraft OEM electrical processes.
