About the position

As an Electrical Service Engineer at Radyne, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing high-power electronics, machine automation, and Power Conversion Systems specifically designed for Industrial Induction systems. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and hands-on experience, as you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment. Your role will also involve troubleshooting various issues, providing technical support, and ensuring that all work adheres to the highest safety and quality standards. In this dynamic position, you will rotate through various disciplines, alternating between in-house engineering projects and short-duration field engineering, maintenance, and service projects. This rotation will provide you with a diverse range of experiences and challenges, enhancing your skills and knowledge in the electrical engineering field. You will engage in projects that include PLC programming, debugging of systems, field service repair of industrial electrical and mechanical equipment, and preventative maintenance of water systems and material handling equipment. Additionally, you will be involved in control system architecture and concept design, I/O design, electrical wiring design, and the layout of electrical cabinets and systems. Your responsibilities will also extend to project management, printed circuit board design, transformer design, load computation, and modeling and simulation of electric power circuits. Proficiency in C programming and embedded systems will be beneficial, as will your ability to characterize system specifications and conduct in-house product testing and repairs of customer goods.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide technical support.
  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards.
  • Rotate through various disciplines between in-house engineering projects and field service projects.
  • Engage in PLC programming and debugging of systems.
  • Conduct field service repair on industrial electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on water systems and material handling equipment.
  • Design control system architecture and concepts.
  • Design I/O and electrical wiring layouts.
  • Manage projects related to electrical systems.
  • Design printed circuit boards and transformers.
  • Conduct load computations and modeling of electric power circuits.
  • Utilize C programming and embedded systems in projects.
  • Characterize system specifications and conduct in-house product testing and repairs.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering or service.
  • Familiarity with high voltage and high power circuits is a plus.
  • Proficient in using oscilloscopes, meters, and high voltage testers.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting motor controls and drives is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) preferred.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
