About the position

Haun Welding Supply is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join our Buffalo, NY Service Department. This full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $24 to $30, depending on experience. The ideal candidate will have a background in electronics, computer repair, or any repair/service field, and will be trained to become a leader in the welder repair industry. As a Haun Service Technician, you will be recognized as one of the best in your field, with opportunities for continuing education and training to stay at the forefront of the industry. In this role, you will work on a variety of commercial and industrial welding equipment, including pressure washers, plasma cutting systems, hydraulic bandsaws, ironworkers, and CNC cutting tables. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting and repairing electrical welding equipment and mechanical industrial equipment, as well as utilizing your knowledge and skills in specialty equipment. You will also be responsible for reading wiring schematics, using hand tools, and estimating jobs and tasks efficiently. The position requires a strong understanding of electrical components and the ability to use digital multimeters. You will need to possess mechanical aptitude and be able to look up and identify the correct parts necessary for various repairs. The ability to perform simple to moderately complex technical tasks is essential, as is the ability to take initiative and work both independently and as part of a team. Reliability and punctuality are key attributes for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical welding equipment and mechanical industrial equipment.
  • Work on commercial and industrial welding equipment, including pressure washers and CNC cutting tables.
  • Read wiring schematics and utilize hand tools for repairs.
  • Estimate jobs and tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Lookup and identify the correct parts to complete various tasks and repairs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; secondary degree is a plus.
  • Understanding of electrical components and digital multimeters.
  • Ability to read wiring schematics and use hand tools.
  • Possess mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to perform simple to moderately complex technical tasks.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with electronics, computer repair, or home appliances.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, hydraulics, or pneumatics.
  • Auto mechanics experience.
