About the position
The Electrical Shop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the shop electricians, ensuring timely job completion, and facilitating communication between the engineering team and floor electricians. This role involves maintaining inventory, providing technical support, and training employees on safety procedures and techniques.
Responsibilities
- Supervise shop electricians to ensure timely job completion.
- Review assembly, festoon, and runway conductor drawings.
- Determine required wire sizes and lengths based on provided drawings.
- Maintain consumables inventory and requisition as needed.
- Ensure a clean and orderly workspace for the electrical area.
- Provide technical support to floor and field technicians.
- Offer feedback to improve processes and techniques to the shop superintendent and electrical engineering team.
- Train employees on methods, techniques, and safety procedures.
- Communicate effectively with various departments.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of 3 phase and single phase power.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the material handling industry.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and willingness to read manuals for diagnosis.
Nice-to-haves
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Understanding of PLCs.
