The Electrical System Design Engineer V position at SPECTRAFORCE is a critical role that involves leading the design verification of circuit boards, system integration, and providing field support for new product releases. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical engineering, particularly in system design, analog and digital circuit design. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to take ownership of significant components within a system. The candidate must be capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. Additionally, the role necessitates travel to remote sites to support initial hardware integration, making flexibility and adaptability essential traits for success in this position. In this role, the engineer will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to execute product designs from concept through to production. This includes responsibilities such as design, prototyping, validation, testing, and certification of products. The engineer will manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work with cross-functional teams as required by various projects. Key tasks include writing and developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and test procedures, as well as designing and implementing embedded systems, analog and digital circuit designs, and debugging systems. The engineer will also support product releases to manufacturing and customer deployments, implement Engineering Change Orders, and execute tasks according to aggressive schedules. The position requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, along with 0-2 years of experience in electrical design. A solid understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals is crucial, as is the ability to apply this knowledge independently. Familiarity with schematic entry, layout tools, and design for manufacturability is preferred, particularly with tools like OrCAD Capture and Cadence Allegro. The candidate should also have experience in designing schematics that include both analog and digital electronics, and be comfortable executing design reviews in front of interdisciplinary teams. Strong organizational and planning skills, a customer-focused attitude, and a commitment to rigorous testing practices are essential for this role.
