About the position

The Electrical System Integration Engineer at Lockheed Martin Space will play a crucial role in the GeoXO satellite system, which aims to enhance Earth observations from geostationary orbit. This position involves leading the electrical system design and integration, ensuring compliance with technical baselines, and fostering communication across various technical teams. The engineer will also oversee electrical performance, manage risks, and provide mentorship to junior engineers, contributing to missions that have significant impacts on weather, ocean, and climate operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide electrical system design and integration for the GeoXO series of satellites
  • Lead system electrical architecture definition and design trades
  • Oversee all satellite electrical performance, power subsystem modeling, and interface control
  • Lead comprehensive electrical requirements development and verification planning
  • Foster communication across program technical teams and support program change management processes
  • Support identification and adjudication of electrical system program risks
  • Prepare for and participate in program design reviews
  • Lead electrical system integration and test through satellite I&T and launch operations
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior systems integration & design engineers

Requirements

  • Demonstrated system design and test experience
  • Experience coordinating across multiple engineering functions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong teaming skills and ability to build consensus

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience leading space system electrical design or development
  • Experience with system requirements development and verification execution
  • Experience in conducting electrical compatibility or circuit design analysis
  • Experience reviewing and approving engineering documentation and test plans
  • Experience in electrical test architecture and procedure development
  • Experience with integrated hardware/software simulators
  • Experience presenting in high-level program discussions
