The Electrical Systems Support position is a critical role that requires an active Secret clearance. The individual in this position will be responsible for the design, installation, modification, repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various electrical systems, controls, and equipment located in and around installation buildings. This role demands a thorough understanding of commercial electrical systems and associated equipment, as well as the principles of electricity and electronics. The successful candidate will be expected to compute and measure common properties such as resistance, inductance, capacitance, voltage, and current, and will have knowledge of the construction, installation, operation, and troubleshooting of sophisticated circuitry and controls associated with unique projects. In addition to technical skills, the Electrical Systems Support role requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other trades to maintain equipment. The position involves using and maintaining a variety of hand, hydraulic, and power tools, including screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, and cable pullers, as well as a wide range of test equipment such as test lamps, multi-meters, and circuit analyzers. The candidate will be responsible for installing and maintaining distribution lines of various voltages, supplying transformers, distribution panels, switchgear, and UPS systems, as well as testing and maintaining lightning protection components and working on energized systems. The role also includes assisting engineers in the design and implementation of electrical systems, validating and overseeing contracts, providing technical support to Sector complex tenants, and maintaining up-to-date blueprints and facility maintenance records. The candidate will be expected to work from blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics to determine necessary repairs and replacements, while adhering to all Air Force regulations, local base regulations, and the National Electrical Code. Troubleshooting and repairing defective equipment and faulty wiring, as well as conducting periodic load tests on generators, are also key responsibilities of this position. Safe practices and procedures must be followed at all times, ensuring compliance with established safety rules and regulations.
