About the position

The Electrical Systems Design Engineer position at Actalent involves designing motor control and test system solutions, focusing on creating electrical schematics and ensuring compliance with customer specifications. This role offers a hybrid work environment with 2-3 days of remote work per week, allowing for flexibility while contributing to innovative engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Design motor control and test system solutions, including creation of Power Distribution Diagrams, Network Distribution Diagrams, and Electrical schematics.
• Develop electrical and mechanical drawing packages for industrial motor control and battery testing/simulation systems optimized for size and ease of manufacturing.
• Verify conformance of components and systems to customer specifications.
• Complete load, voltage, amperage, and heat calculations to ensure proper design.
• Create system bill of materials.
• Work with Purchasing and Vendors to evaluate alternate components.

Requirements

• BSEE or Engineering Degree in Electrical Field
• 3+ years specifying components and systems used in electrical designs for applications involving power electronics and/or voltages of up to 460 or higher
• Experience with design of motor control and test systems.
