About the position

The Electrical Systems Development Engineer plays a crucial role in coordinating various engineering domains to achieve project milestones and ensure the delivery of prototypes in line with MAHLE PDP standards. This position involves technical management of new product development, acting as the main technical contact with customers and production plants, and ensuring that hardware designs meet customer requirements. The engineer will also be responsible for Design to Cost, Design for Manufacturing, and Design for Quality, while supporting circuit analysis and managing technical resources at the project level.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate technical and strategic efforts with the Product System Development Team Leader.
  • Manage new product development technically.
  • Apply lessons learned from previous projects.
  • Manage technical resources at the project level.
  • Act as the main technical interface with the project customer and production plant.
  • Analyze and negotiate customer requirements with the System Requirements Engineer.
  • Coordinate development tasks across various technical domains.
  • Develop the project according to budget and planning.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager on risk and cost analysis.
  • Ensure adherence to Design to Cost, Design for Manufacturing, and Design for Quality principles.
  • Plan and monitor development cycles following MAHLE PDP.
  • Approve the Engineering Bill of Materials (eBOM) for each development cycle.
  • Organize technical reviews involving other domains, especially quality.
  • Review Design FMEA with the quality department.
  • Define critical or safety characteristics of the product.
  • Manage and resolve technical problems.
  • Provide on-site technical support as needed.
  • Keep the Project Manager and Product System Development Team Leader informed about project progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar engineering field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in power electronics hardware design and development; 5 or more years is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in PCB and EMC Filter design.
  • Previous experience in direct contact with customers and suppliers.
  • Technical background in electronics development; experience in automotive electronics is preferred.
  • Experience with Altium Designer is required.
  • Technical background in electronics design fields such as Hardware, e-Layout, Software, Mechanical, Validation, Functional Safety, Prototyping, or Industrialization is required.
  • Experience using laboratory instrumentation and test setups such as CANoe, INCA, oscilloscopes, waveform generators, power supplies, electronics loads, and spectrum analyzers is required.
  • Knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes is highly desired.
  • Experience with Matlab and LT Spice is desired.
  • Knowledge of Automotive SPICE processes and Functional Safety (ISO26262) is desired.
  • Knowledge in Cybersecurity is a plus.
