About the position

The Electrical/Systems Engineer position at Associates Systems LLC is a contract opportunity focused on hardware and software development for Naval Vessels. The ideal candidate will possess strong programming skills, with a primary emphasis on developing algorithms and solving programming problems rather than extensive coding. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in both hardware and software, as the engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing computer hardware and software systems. The position is based in Philadelphia, PA, and is open to US Citizens only, with a starting date as soon as possible. In this role, the engineer will work exclusively with computers and computer-related equipment on Naval Vessels, developing new software systems and incorporating new technologies into a rapidly growing range of applications. The responsibilities include supervising the manufacturing and installation of computer systems and related equipment, as well as researching, designing, and testing hardware and software programs. The engineer will apply principles and techniques from computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis to ensure the effective design and evaluation of software and systems that enable computers to perform various applications. Additionally, the engineer will analyze user needs and design, construct, test, and maintain computer application software or systems. This may involve working on software for operating systems, network distribution, and compilers, as well as troubleshooting and resolving technical problems that arise during the development process. A degree from an accredited university in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is required, along with a Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Degree from an accredited university in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Strong programming skills with a focus on algorithm development and problem-solving.
  • Secret Clearance required.
