About the position

The Electrical Systems Engineer is responsible for overseeing all electrical aspects of assigned projects, ensuring adherence to safety guidelines, and managing multiple projects simultaneously. This role involves designing electrical power distribution systems, programming PLC and HMI systems, and maintaining quality control standards. The engineer will also interact with internal and external customers and may assist in training team members.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety rules and regulations, ensuring personnel abide by safety guidelines.
  • Lead and manage projects using industry best practices for electrical power distribution systems and control system architecture.
  • Select and layout control panel components and support panel and system fabrication.
  • Validate engineering design deliverables against MPW and industry best practices.
  • Program PLC and HMI systems according to MPW's standard practices, ensuring safety at all levels.
  • Develop new systems based on control narratives and P&IDs, validating programs against best practices.
  • Develop and maintain testing procedures and quality control standards for complex equipment.
  • Assist with team oversight to ensure procedures are followed for proper system functionality and customer satisfaction.
  • Test equipment according to developed schedules and communicate testing status to all levels within MPW.
  • Handle workforce, equipment, and customer relations across multiple locations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering with a minimum of 1 year in an engineering-related field.
  • Associate degree with a minimum of 3 years technical experience in power distribution, control system design, and programming.
  • Practical knowledge in power and controls design.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley control systems preferred.
  • Factory Talk experience preferred.
  • Practical knowledge of Ethernet I/P Networking.
  • Experience with AutoCAD drafting preferred.
  • Familiarity with NEC electrical codes and compliance.
