About the position

The Electrical Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing electronic hardware and developing comprehensive documentation to support manufacturing processes. This role involves reviewing and approving manufacturing documentation, which includes specifying and approving components necessary for product development. The engineer will interact with customers both in-house and at their locations to ensure that the design meets customer requirements and expectations. In addition to hardware design, the engineer will develop and document design plans and engineering specifications specifically for the electrical components of product designs. This includes creating product and system-level test plans that are essential for the verification and validation processes, as well as developing manufacturing test procedures and equipment to ensure product quality and reliability. The role also requires supporting new concept work and providing project cost estimates for new business opportunities as assigned, which is crucial for the strategic growth of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Design electronic hardware and develop documentation for manufacturing processes.
  • Review and approve manufacturing documentation, including component specifications.
  • Interact with customers both in-house and at their locations to gather requirements and feedback.
  • Develop and document design plans and engineering specifications for electrical components of products.
  • Create product and system-level test plans for verification and validation processes.
  • Develop manufacturing test procedures and equipment to ensure product quality.
  • Support new concept work and provide project cost estimates for new business opportunities.

Requirements

  • Experience with Altium eCAD software for electronic design.
  • Digital design experience using various microcontrollers (e.g., PIC Micro) and processors (e.g., iMX6).
  • Experience designing products for medium-scale manufacturing, with an understanding of cost constraints and part lifecycle management.
  • Experience designing circuits using high-speed memory is preferred.
  • Experience with designing display systems, including PCAP touch screens and LVDS, is preferred.
  • Experience designing medical devices or other highly regulated products is preferred.
  • Familiarity with PLM systems, preferably Oracle Agile.
