About the position

As an Electrical Systems Engineering Team Lead at Stadler Signalling Deutschland GmbH, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the Electrical Systems Engineering team throughout all project phases, from initial concept through to validation and warranty. This position is based in Salt Lake City, Utah, and is integral to the development of a well-established and experienced team dedicated to the design and implementation of electrical systems for rail vehicles. Your leadership will be crucial in guiding the team, which consists of engineers with backgrounds in electrical engineering and technical disciplines, ensuring they are equipped to handle the complexities of various electrical systems on trains, including Vehicle Control, Auxiliary Supply, System Integration, and Propulsion. In this role, you will be responsible for the further development and management of your team members, focusing on both technical expertise and business acumen. You will coordinate and plan resources for the Electrical Systems Engineering team, ensuring that all US projects are adequately staffed and that engineering processes, guidelines, and work instructions are created and established. Your leadership will also involve ensuring compliance with cost and schedule for assigned work packages, and you will be expected to initiate escalations and resolution actions as necessary, collaborating with various departments within Stadler and with suppliers. Additionally, you will participate in supplier negotiations, First Article Inspections, and bid projects, making your role not only one of management but also of strategic importance in the overall success of the engineering projects undertaken by Stadler. Responsibilities

  • Lead the Electrical Systems Engineering team activities in all project phases from concept to validation and warranty.
  • Further develop and manage employees in the Electrical Systems Engineering Team.
  • Coordinate and plan resources for the Electrical Systems Engineering Team for US projects.
  • Create and establish engineering processes, guidelines, and work instructions.
  • Ensure cost and schedule compliance for assigned work packages and initiate escalations and resolution actions as necessary.
  • Participate in supplier negotiations, First Article Inspections, and bid projects.

Requirements

  • Completed BS degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of experience as an Electrical Systems Engineer.
  • Experience in the Railway Industry preferred.
  • Proven management experience in an engineering team or department is advantageous.
  • High communication skills in an international working environment.
