About the position

The Electrical Systems Engineering Technician/Engineer position is a full-time role based in Batavia, IL, offering a salary range of $80,000 to $85,000. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in electrical systems engineering, with a focus on PLC programming, HMI programming, and field service for control systems. The role requires a detail-oriented individual who is organized, dependable, and a team player, with a willingness to learn and take initiative. The company is open to providing training as needed.

Responsibilities

  • PLC programming for Allen-Bradley controllers and others
  • HMI programming for Allen-Bradley operator interfaces and others
  • VFD programming for Allen-Bradley, ABB products and others
  • Field service for commissioning & troubleshooting control systems & instrumentation
  • Creating and interpreting AutoCAD electrical and mechanical drawings in 2D & 3D
  • Familiarity with PID loops and PLC-based controllers
  • Knowledge of industrial Fieldbus communications, including Ethernet/IP, IO Link, AS-I, CAN-BUS
  • Panel-building experience, including mounting and wiring components and reading ladder diagrams and electrical schematics
  • Providing technical support on phone and on-site to customers
  • Supporting technicians and sales-force as a team player

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering
  • 2-5 years of related experience
  • Knowledge and implementation of safe working practices in the workplace
  • Experience in using shop tools for building and wiring control panels
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and ladder diagrams
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Highly driven and able to learn quickly
  • Ability to represent the company professionally with customers and suppliers

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in panel-building (2 years preferred)
  • Familiarity with industrial Fieldbus communications
