About the position

The Electrical Technical Specialist is responsible for providing technical expertise and support to clients in the electrical industry. This role involves collaborating with clients to understand their needs, designing manufacturing processes, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The specialist will also conduct training, prepare technical presentations, and provide on-site support as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Design manufacturing processes and procedures
  • Involvement with continuous improvement initiatives of manufacturing methods
  • Work hand-in-hand with craft employees
  • Act as a resource for technical guidance to manufacturing personnel
  • Assist in the justification of new equipment
  • Interface with other manufacturing departments to address and resolve technical issues
  • Adhere to Arconic EH&S, quality, continuous improvement, and other company policies
  • Provide direct support to the Maintenance Organization
  • Respond to trouble calls on a 24/7 basis
  • Conduct research and analyze technical data related to electrical systems and equipment
  • Provide technical support to clients, including troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide customized solutions
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in electrical technology
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Conduct training and workshops for clients on new products and technologies
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to clients and colleagues
  • Assist in the development of proposals and bids for new projects
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
  • Travel to client sites as needed to provide on-site technical support and services

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with electrical systems and controls utilized in industrial applications
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
  • 5 years of experience with working knowledge of manufacturing processes and principles
  • 5 years experience in product and process failure analysis and an understanding of world class manufacturing techniques such as lean manufacturing, FMEA, RCM SPC, TQM, etc.
  • Experience in installing, programming, and troubleshooting AC drives, DC drives, and AB Logix5000 series Programmable Logic Controllers
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Proficient problem-solving and creative thinking skills
  • Strong maintenance background
  • Familiarity with instrumentation including HART communications
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Gas-fired combustion system exposure desired
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and equipment
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively to clients and colleagues
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Willingness to travel as needed
